OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY
Polyethylene Recoveries which operates within the Plastic Industry strives to ensure that a high level of occupational health and safety standards is achieved and maintained.
It is the aim of Polyethylene Recoveries to ensure that its employees, customers, contractors, and visitors are exposed as far as is reasonably practical to the minimum risks associated with its activities, and that it is maintained to a standard which is acceptable.
Management Responsibilities
The following list of goals will be striven for and will be maintained to as high a standard as is possible.

Develop and implement an Occupational Health and Safety Management System throughout the organisation which will ensure that a high level of legal compliance is achieved and that, where necessary, best practices are followed to enhance this management system.

Further, audit the Occupational Health and Safety Management System against an established audit protocol and ensure that, where implemented, compliance is achieved.

Implement a risk identification programme which will ensure that when a project is started, all the risks are identified and that risk assessments after commencement of the project are carried out on a regular basis. All work carried out will be assessed and continually monitored.

Implement precautionary requirements as identified in terms of the risk assessments carried out.

Ensure that such precautionary requirements are effective and have been developed to ensure that the identified risks are either removed, reduced or, if it is not possible to remove them, that they are accordingly managed.

Ensure that incidents are reduced and that employees are minimally affected.

The prevention of injury and ill health in the workplace.

Development of resources required to ensure effective implementation and control.

The OH & S objectives will be set and reviewed on an annual basis.

Undertake all activities in such a manner that they will not undermine or cause conflict to health and safety principles and objectives.

Ensure that finances are allocated to manage occupational health and safety requirements in the most cost effective manner possible.

The policy will be reviewed by Management and the Health and Safety Committee annually or where any changes have occurred that necessitates a review

The policy and the Occupational Health and Safety Management System will be developed and implemented throughout the organisation.

A striving towards continuous improvement in respect of occupational health and safety will at all times be maintained.

The contents and intent of this policy will be communicated to all employees and interested parties on a regular basis via the Company website or during induction training.
Employee Responsibilities

Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions.

Understand their roles and responsibilities and the importance of conforming to the OH & S policy, procedures and to the requirements of their OH & S management system.

Understand the benefits of improved personal performance regarding OH & S matters.

The realisation of the potential consequences if deviating from specified procedures.
